By Chuck Reherman, Sports Editor – Coach of the Year honors are something that comes along once, maybe twice in a career.
Make it six for Yukon’s Steve Scott.
Scott was named the NSCAA 2017 Coach of the Year in Oklahoma for Large School girls soccer. He received the award this past week.
It is the second year in a row that he has won the award. He won it four times at Capitol Hill High School
Scott has been coaching high school soccer 17 years, 12 years as a girls team coach. In that time, his teams have missed the playoffs only three times.
The award goes to the coach who shows the most consistency as program through hard work and dedication.
“It was a nice surprise,” Scott said. “I am honored to receive the award for a sixth time. I have had great athletes to coach every where I have been and great support.
