By Chuck Reherman, Sports Editor – Southwest Covenant goes hunting a return trip to the class 3A State Volleyball Tournament today as the No. 8 Lady Patriots host a regional tournament today.

The Lady Patriots, 16-7, host Amber-Pocasset, Oklahoma City Millwood and Oklahoma City Northeast Academy.

SWCS will face Northeast at 12:30 p.m. Amber-Pocasset and Millwood play at 11.

The winners will met at 2 p.m. for the championship and a trip to the state tournament the following week.

“Hopefully, we will be in that final game and get a chance to go to state,” Lady Patriot coach Samantha Lindsey said. “We are excited about the draw we got, we were hoping for a higher seed, but I feel we will be okay in the regionals.

“We just need to go in and pass the ball well,” she said. “We have a good front line and we need to get them the ball and take it from there.”

The Lady Patriots toughest competition will be Amber-Pocasset. The teams faced each other on Sept. 19 and SWCS came away with a three-set win, although two of the matches were close.

Northeast is 1-10 on the season and Millwood has also struggled this season.

The state tournament for class 3A is set Oc. 6-7. The first day will be at Edmond Deer Creek and the second day at Choctaw High School.
