Southwest Covenant wanted to get off to a strong start and remain unbeaten on their home floor.
The Lady Patriots did just that.
Southwest Covenant went on a 22-4 scoring run in the second quarter and rolled to a 52-31win over Oklahoma City Crooked Oak.
The Lady Patriots are 2-0 on their home floor with the one-sided win and improved to 5-1 overall.
Southwest Covenant used their height advantage to work the ball inside, then used the transition game led by Hannah Cook to take control of the game.
Leading 10-6 in the second quarter, the Lady Patriots forced Crooked Oak turnovers that turned into shots from Cook. Cook hit three layups and added two more pull up shots to break the game open.
Cook hit the three layups and Breanna Anduss hit two shots that turned the 10-6 score into a 22-8 lead. Cook added two more field goals and Anduss and Emma Riggs hit shots that pushed the lead to 32-10 at the intermission.
A pair of Tytiana Mustin free throws opened a 34-9 lead early in the third quarter. After a Crooked Oak score, Mustin connected on a trey to open a 37-11 lead. Kylie Mosseley hit a field goal and a free throw that pushed the lead to 44-20 late in the third.
The Lady Patriots opened the game with three Moseley free throws. Field goals from Cook and Anduss pushed the lead to 10-3 late in the quarter.
Cook led all scorers with 14 points, hitting seven shots from the floor. Anduss added 10 points on five field goals, Moseley had eight, Mustin six and Liz Mitchell and Riggs had four each.
