Cindy Sue Wiedemann was born Cindy Sue Brown in Homestead, Florida on November 12, 1963. She passed from this life on Friday, January 19th, 2018 in Yukon, OK.
Her father Lonney Brown Sr. was stationed in the Army and her mother Alice Brown was a homemaker. After completing his service, the family returned to Oklahoma. Cindy was the eldest of four children. During her childhood she and her siblings spent time together playing sports and vacationing on weekends at the lake with their relatives.
She graduated from Yukon High School in 1982 and went on to complete her college education at Central State University in Edmond, OK. She married her husband Hal Wiedemann on January 1, 1984. She and her husband were married for 34 years and resided in Canadian County for most of their married life. She enjoyed traveling with Hal and loved spending time with her family.
Cindy was a teacher, mother, wife, beloved sister and daughter, as well as a devout Christian. She taught junior high journalism and English for 20 years at Western Oaks Middle School; she then continued her teaching career for 13 more years at Lakeview Middle School/Yukon Middle School in Yukon. Her love for her students was inspiring. She cared and prayed about each student and spent much time investing in their futures.
She was a mother to Kristin and Kimberly, and grandmother to Theodore. Her devotion to her children and grandchild could be seen by her constant kindness, patience, and love. Cindy believed in God’s purpose for everyone and saw the good in each person. Her faith was steadfast and evidenced by her daily interactions with others. She will be remembered as a mother to all. Her desire for others was to know Jesus and keep their hope in Him.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lonney Brown Sr., and her father-in-law, Ernest Wiedemann.
She is survived by her husband, Hal Wiedemann; daughter, Kristin Nelson and son-in-law Todd Nelson; grandson, Theodore Ernest; daughter, Kimberly Byerly and son-in-law Kolt Byerly; mother, Alice Brown; siblings and their families, James Brown, Penny Moore, and Sherry Standerfer; mother-in-law, Maxine Wiedemann as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Due to Cindy’s love of reading, those wishing to make a donation are asked to contact Central Elementary Library to make donation in her honor.
A celebration of life service was held Wednesday, January 24 at Town & Country Christian Church, Yukon, OK, with interment at the Yukon Cemetery.
