Joyce Joan Corley, age 76, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother went peacefully to be with her Lord on January 23, 2018.
Joyce, the daughter of Edith and Harold Cook, was born on October 17, 1941, in Taneyville, Mo. She was one of six children. Both of her parents passed away when she was a young child, and she went to live with her aunt and uncle, Arbella and Charlie Addington, in Seagoville, TX.
After high school, she married Jimmy O’Neal Corley on June 10, 1962 in Dallas, TX. They were married for 49 years until his death in 2011. They had one child, Jonica Elwell of Yukon, Ok.
After moving to Yukon in 1966, Joyce chose to pursue a path in Stanley Home Products for 38 years. She also worked for Walmart for 17 years, forming many friendships within the community. She was an active member of Council Road Baptist Church and Silver Chords Choir at the Dale Robertson Senior Center in Yukon.
Her life was full of family and friends. She brought people together with her kindness and hospitality. She showed her faith and love for Jesus to everyone she met.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jimmy O’Neal Corley and her brothers Jack, Cletus, Victor, and Monty Cook.
She is survived by her daughter Jonica Elwell and her spouse Mark Elwell of Yukon, Ok. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Jerri Keim and her husband Cale Keim, Terri Myers and her husband Benjamin Pierce, Kerri Fowler, her brother Wayne Cook and his wife Judy Cook.
