Darlene Mae Rose Morris, 73, passed away on January 11, 2018 in Yukon, Oklahoma.
She was born to Doyle Rose and Ada (Harris) Rose on December 13, 1944 in Marshall, Arkansas. Darlene married James Morris and within two years they welcomed their children, Darla and Danny. Darlene, a once in a lifetime person, was the true example of a strong and amazing woman.
She was a very special creation, a feisty spirit with an indomitable passion for life. From the beginning of her life, the one defining trait that set her apart from others was her smile. No matter the circumstances of her life, she always smiled. She followed her own mother’s example, working in a nursing home for her entire career.
She cooked, worked as an aid, and activities director. She loved being a caregiver, and her smile was so engaging that everyone loved her back. Darlene gave her children examples of toughness, fortitude, hard work, honesty, joy, and most importantly, unconditional love.
She was the wind beneath the wings of many. Until we see you again, we will take our most important moments and wrap those memories up in a safe place in each of our hearts.
Darlene is survived by her daughter, Darla, son Danny and daughter-in-law Tammy, brother Charles and sister-in-law Dorothy, grandchildren, Daniel, Meaghan, Zach, Lauren, Riley, Jake and Emily, great grandson Waylen and Baby Goodrich on the way.
A funeral service was held on Saturday January 15, 2018 at Smith & Turner Mortuary, with burial at Yukon, Cemetery.
