EDMOND – Southwest Covenant’s swim team consists of four swimmers.

And, all four of them will be going to state.

The Lady Patriots qualified five events, including one relay, to the class 5A State Swimming Championships Saturday during the West regionals at the Mitch Park Aquatics Complex in Edmond.

The team will return to Edmond on Friday for the state preliminary rounds. The finals will be contested on Saturday.

Clare Warner qualified in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events. She placed ninth (won the B final) in the 100 free in a time of 1:01.64 seconds. She then placed 11th (third in the B final) in the 50-yard free in 28.02

Hannah Warner also qualified in the 50 free and the 100 butterfly. She swam to an ninth place overall finish (winning the B final) in the 50 free in 26.91 seconds. She was 12th (fourth in the B final) in the butterfly in a time of 1:12.76.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Clare Warner, Cassidy Gossen, Jaele Warner and Hannah Warner finished eighth in a time of 4:40.62 to earn their spot in state.

The foursome also competed in the 200-yard freestyle relay and finished ninth, one spot out of qualifying. The foursome swam a time of 2:01.64.
