Obituary: Skye Vonholland

1795

Skye Vonholland has been rocking the town of Oklahoma City since his birth on July 1, 1972 to James Ross Bennett and Thurma Watson.

As he grew up in Oklahoma, he pursued his passion of playing the drum set in bands at an early age. His band “WarNecK” often played around town and recorded multiple heavy metal songs. Skye loved to be the “life of the party,” whether it was with family or a B.Y.O.B. party with friends and neighbors.

He cheered on the Eagles football team and was ecstatic to celebrate with their recent Super Bowl win. Between music and working on aircraft sheet metal at the Tinker Air Force Base, he would take time and relax outside with hiking, camping, kayaking, and dirt bike riding. His wife and three children were never surprised if he had a spur of the moment idea, often having fun like a “big kid.”

Skye may be missed here on earth, but his beat will still live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Skye is survived by his wife Shannon; father James Bennett and wife Bobbie; mother Thurma Watson and stepdad Tony Baker; son Zane Vonholland; daughters Paige Vonholland and Stormy Billie; grandson Braxton; brothers Craig Bennett and Brian Baker; and sister Alicia Rains.

A Celebration of Life service was held Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Smith & Turner Chapel. Visit http://www.smith-turnermortuary.com to leave a condolence for the family.
