Virginia Ruth (Niles) Wagner was called home to be with her Heavenly Father and her mom and dad at 10:18 a.m. on February 12, 2018, after a lengthy time of fighting congestive heart failure.
She was born on April 7, 1934, and passed from this life just a few days short of her 63rd wedding anniversary and her 84th birthday. She was born to Vernie A. Niles and Gertrude O. (Talley) Niles, in El Reno, OK. She graduated from El Reno High School in the class of 1952.
She married James L. (Jim) Wagner of Yukon, OK in 1955 and moved to join him in Amarillo, TX where he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. They lived in Texas for almost six years before moving back to Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother and father.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, of the home, their one daughter Kimberly (Kim) Stephens and her husband Michael Eric Stephens of Oklahoma
City, her three granddaughters Heather D. Johnson and her husband Jed A. Johnson of El Reno, OK, Sally R. Beer, and Haiden Nicole Stephens of Oklahoma City, one great granddaughter Elena Hageman of Plainville, KS, and two great grandsons Nathanael Beer and Tylar Beer of Oklahoma City.
Virginia was the first Medical Records Clerk for Parkview Hospital when it opened in 1954 in El Reno, OK. In Amarillo, TX she was bookkeeper for several different companies and later a firm of attorneys. When they moved back to Oklahoma, she continued as a bookkeeper for attorneys.
In 1969, she and her husband incorporated their company Green Country Automotive Inc. where she worked until her retirement in 2005. In her younger years she was an avid water skier, spending most weekends on the lake. In her later years she and Jim were privileged to have traveled and enjoyed a lot of the beautiful world we live in. She enjoyed cruises and traveling by motor home.
In 1995, they founded Oklahoma United Gospel Music Inc. as a hobby and started promoting gospel concerts.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held noon, Saturday, Feb. 17 at Town & Country Christian Church in Yukon where she and her husband were faithful members.
