Johnny Henry Andrews was born on March 12, 1938, in El Dorado, Arkansas, the son of Ruel and Mary (Slaughter) Andrews. He married Inez Elizabeth Blaylock on August 2, 1963 in El Dorado, Arkansas.
Johnny received his formal education in the El Dorado Public Schools. After graduation, he enlisted into the United States Navy where he proudly served his country for four years, which included two years overseas. Johnny retired from Oklahoma Gas & Electric after 23 years of service as a machinist.
Johnny was an avid metal detector and especially loved the outdoors. His favorite place was either fishing at Hugo Lake or elk hunting in the mountains of Colorado.
Johnny Andrews departed this life on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. He was 80 years old. He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Inez; daughter, Mary (Kirk) Maynord; son, John Andrews; brothers, Jimmy (Dixie) Andrews and Terry Andrews; grandchildren, Dustin, Ryan and Sarah; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 5, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, 1500 W. Vandament, Yukon, OK.
A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, August 6, at Trinity Baptist Church, 620 N. Cemetery, Yukon, OK.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Trinity Quilters, who makes quilts for foster children. This group is through Trinity Baptist Church, Yukon.
