Off to a strong start.
Yukon’s junior varsity Millers are off to an unbeaten start, rolling to a 27-7 win over Edmond North Monday night at Miller Stadium.
The Millers are 3-0 on the season with the win and controlled the tempo of the game for the third straight week.
“The kids continue to play well,” JV coach Jeff Hall said. “The defense had some crucial stops and was very physical.
“The offense played very well and took care of the ball.”
The Millers rolled up 350 yards of offense, 318 on the ground in controlling the tempo of the game.
Yukon scored on their opening possession of the game, driving 70 yards in nine plays that was capped by a six-yard run by quarterback Levi Davis. The extra point, though, was wide right.
Davis scored his second touchdown of the game in the first half on a one-yard run. The score was set up by runs from Coyle Berry. Berry finished the night rushing for 143 yards on 11 carries.
Tristan Brooke scored the Millers’ third touchdown of the game on a 40-yard touchdown run. Kaden Allen’s second extra point of the game opened the lead to 20-7.
Berry scored the final touchdown for the Millers on a 54-yard run.
Brooke finished with 82 yards on 13 carries.
Yukon will travel to Norman on Monday.
