A cyclist who was struck by a hit-and-run driver Monday morning has died of his injuries.
Gary Duvall, 50, of Yukon was riding his bicycle west on Route 66 just east of Richland Road when he was hit by a vehicle. He was in serious condition at OU Medical Center but was pronounced dead this morning.
Police are looking for a 2016 or 2017 Ford pickup truck based on debris from the scene.
Yukon Police Chief John Corn said his detectives are doing everything they can to solve the case.
“We’re looking for a vehicle with a missing passenger side mirror. Someone could have ordered a replacement part online, over-nighted it and that repair could have been completed already. There’s too many variables and not enough ways to track down every possibility,” Corn said, “outside of educating the public.”
Detectives have contacted area repair shops and reviewed video surveillance in the area but were unable to find any of it useful to turn up a lead.
Corn said he hopes someone will come forward with the information they need.
“Usually someone knows something, or someone’s conscience may get the best of them,” he said.
