Stephanie Bice will keep her Senate District 22 seat after a resounding win Tuesday night.

Bice could not be reached for comment and did not release a statement on her Facebook page to voters.

Her opponent, Democrat Williams Andrews, released his concession statement on his campaign page, thanking his supporters for all they did.

“I want to thank everyone who worked so hard on our campaign. We came up short this time, but we kept the conversation on education. I have to think we helped steer voters away from the disastrous SQ 801. We made the incumbents sit up and take notice. We’re not going away. The fight is not over and we will be watching.”

Bice, elected to a second Senate term, received 12,965 votes (71.78 percent) compared to 5,096 votes (28.22 percent) for Andrews.

Bice, of Edmond, received acclaim in the state legislature for authoring measures that modernized Oklahoma’s liquor laws.
