ENID – Yukon’s Miller swim team collected a title and the Millerettes swam to a second place finish at the Enid Swim Meet, Monday in Enid.
While Enid won the combined title in the three-team meet, the Millers took the men’s title with a score of 353 to 303 over Enid. The Enid Homeschool team finished third with 153.
Enid won the women’s division 398-310 over the Millerettes, while the homeschool team was third with 54 points.
Enid had the high combined score of 701 to 663.
“Overall, the swimmers had a really good meet,” YHS head coach Bruce Clifton said. “I saw a lot of competitive fire in them which was good to see.
“The boys won the meet,” he said. “They also won two of the Relays. And, Isaiah Auld broke his own school record in the 200 Free. We had other first and second places in numerous other events as well.
“A big part of our success came from freshmen, which really pleased me. Abi Palmer and Phillip Monsey were two freshmen that had really good meets. I think they were having fun this meet and it showed in the results.”
Auld swam a time of 1:51.29 to win the 200-yard freestyle event and break his own school record. Caden Morris finished third in a time of 2:37.90.
Auld also won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 59.94 seconds. Chris Nelson finished second in 1:21.30.
Logan McIntyre won the 500-yard freestyle event in a time of 6:53.86.
The 400-yard relay team of McIntyre, Aydan Howard, Monsey and Auld won the event in a time of 4:00.68.
The 200-yard relay team of Kolby Printup, Liam Cobb, Morris and Monsey won in a time of 1:55.33. The B team of Shawn Varghese, Garret Rich, Jeswin Thomas and Chaslyn Parker finished third in a time of 2:29.28.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Xander Auld, Iram Palomino, Nelson and David Lu finished third in a time of 2:18.62.
Howard swam to a second place finish in the 200 individual medley in a time of 2:29.15. He also finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:19.39. Morris finished third in 1:26.24, Palomino fifth in 1:31.15 and Lu eighth in 1:37.31.
Monsey earned a pair of second place finishes in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle. He swam a time of 27.22 seconds in the 50 and 1:05.56 in the 100.
Printup took third in the 100 in 1:06.40 and was fourth in the 50 in 29.03 seconds.
Xander Auld finished fourth in the 100 in 1:07.20 and was fifth in the 50 in 29.08. Cobb placed fifth in the 100 in 1:09.38 and sixth in the 50 in 29.49. Lu finished sixth in the 100 in 1:12.58 and Parker was ninth in 1:14.90. Palomino was eighth in the 50 in 31.08, Jeswin was ninth in 33.90, Parker 10th in 34.19 and Varghese 12th in 36.14.
McIntyre finished secon in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:05.34 and Nelson was third in 1:25.99.
The Millerettes finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Johana Aguilera, Madison Manning, Palmer and Jordan Raley swam a time of 4:58.26.
The 200 medley team of Madison Lee, Alyssa Wilson, Keigan Davidson and Makayla Gilbert finished third in 2:24.50.
The 200 freestyle relay of Emma Gooch, Lynlee Cummmings, Jozzlynn Sale and Zoe Besabe finished third in 2:24.24. The B team of Esperanza Smith, Jessica Compton, Presli Findley and Chelsea Fuston placed fourth in 2:34.18.
Palmer won the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:33.80. Sale placed third in 2:38.53 and Fuston was fourth in 2:41.20.
Palmer also finished second in the 100 backstroke in 1:20.82. Raley was sixth in 1:27.57, Madison Manning was seventh in 1:29.14 and Fustin 11th in 1:42.32.
Aguilera placed second in the 200 individual medley in a time of 2:58.70 and took second in the 500 freestyle in 7:53.14. Raley placed fourth in the 200 IM in 3:08.24.
Lee placed third in the 50 free in 30.25, Davidson was fourth in 32.15, Besabe fifth in 32.78, Gilbert sixth in 32.86, Wilson seventh in 33.16, Gooch eighth in 33.67, Manning ninth in 33.99 and Smith 12th in 36.14.
Lee was also fifth in the 100 breast in 1:33.33. Wilson was sixth in 1:36.85, Davidosn seventh in 1:38.29 and Gilbert eighth in 1:40.06.
Gooch placed fourth in the 100 freestyle in 1:14.69, Besabe fifth in 1:16.14, Sale sixth in 1:16.90, Smith eighth in 1:23.16, Cummings ninth in 1:27.80 and Jessica Compton 11th in 1:35.10.
