A Yukon woman has been arrested on child abuse/neglect and drug complaints after Yukon police were called to investigate injuries sustained by a toddler who had allegedly fallen.
Kassidy Kilgore, 23, was arrested at 10:25 a.m. Jan. 30 on complaints of abuse/neglect of a child, possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kilgore was arrested at her home in the 100 block of N Briarwood. Criminal charges are pending.
Integris Canadian Valley Hospital, 1201 Health Center Parkway, contacted the Yukon Police Department on Jan. 30 to send an officer to check out suspicious injuries to a three-year-old child being treated after a reported fall from a table.
A police investigator interviewed the child’s caretaker and determined the injuries “were not consistent with the story originally given,” according to Yukon Police Lt. John Brown.
The child’s caretaker, identified as Kilgore, was arrested on the child abuse/neglect and drug complaints after an investigation by Yukon police detectives.
The injured three-year-old was placed with the child’s grandmother, pending the outcome of a separate Department of Human Services’ investigation.
