A national department store retailer plans to build a 40,000 square foot store in a Yukon-area shopping center.
Burlington Stores will be the newest addition to Czech Hall Marketplace off N Czech Hall Road and Interstate 40.
“Burlington does have a signed lease in Yukon and the 40,000 sq. ft. location is scheduled to open in fall 2019,” Burlington public relations representative Mary Mackie wrote in an email.
The new store will be built south of Academy Sports in Czech Hall Marketplace. The retail development is in Oklahoma City limits on the south side of NW 10th.
Formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, the company has more than 600 stores nationwide.
“Burlington is a national off-price retailer offering style for less at up to 65 percent off other retailers’ prices every day,” according to the company’s website. “Departments include ladies’ dresses, suits, sportswear, juniors, accessories, menswear, family footwear and children’s clothing.”
Burlington has already announced the opening of new stores this spring in Texas, Colorado, Ohio, Maryland, Georgia, Indiana, Alabama, Utah, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, New York, and California.
Yukon will be Burlington’s fourth store in central Oklahoma, with others on NW 63rd and S Shields in Oklahoma City and SE 15th in Midwest City.
The company, then known as Burlington Coat Factory, opened its first outlet store in 1972 in Burlington, N.J. Costs were the primary offering at the original Burlington store, but over time the concept has evolved into a one-stop shopping experience.
Sooner Investment is the owner and developer of Czech Hall Marketplace.
On the border between Yukon and Oklahoma City, Czech Hall Marketplace services both Oklahoma City and the growing, bustling Yukon. The development features a vast array of shopping, dining and entertainment.
Czech Hall Marketplace features Academy Sports and Outdoors, ULTA, PetCo, Rack Room Shoes, Marshall’s, Ross, and 5 Below.
Outparcels include several restaurants, including Cheddar’s, Hooters and a LongHorn Steakhouse to open this spring.
