OKLAHOMA CITY – Gold came Yukon’s way on Monday.
In the form of golf gold at the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference tournament at The Greens in Oklahoma City.
The Millerettes finished fourth overall in the 12-team field, but earned gold as Alyssa Wilson won the individual overall title.
Wilson shot a 77 to win the tournament by one stroke.
“I thought we played pretty well,” YHS head coach Ryan Rennels said. “we are still working on improving and fine tuning our games as we prepare for regionals.
“The key for us the rest of the season is just staying calm and playing with confidence,” he said. “Not letting one bad shot turn into more than that. Keeping our composure and understanding that we can’t do anything about the past shot. All we can do is focus on the next one.”
The Millerettes finished fourth overall shooting a team total of 364. Following Wilson was Cynthia DeLoera, who was 11th overall with an 87. Ashlynn Acosta finished 14th with an 88 and Mallorie Gay finished with a 112.
