Taco Bueno posted a sign to the door that caused a ruckus in Yukon.
The sign read that the restaurant was closed until further notice, but manager Kevin Woodward said that was not quite right.
“A manager put closed until further notice but that’s not what we wanted to write,” Woodward said. “We had a staff meeting after opening hours for 30 minutes. We got started late. We don’t normally have customers that early.”
Woodward said the store is corporate owned. Taco Bueno filed for bankruptcy in November 2018 and sold to Sun Holdings in January 2019. Prior to filing bankruptcy, Taco Bueno closed 16 locations including one this year in El Reno. Taco Bueno has locations in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri.
Sun Holdings has 800 store locations for Arby’s, Golden Corral, Popeyes, Burger King, Cici’s Pizza, Kripsy Kreme, GNC and T-Mobile.
Yukon’s Taco Bueno has a 2-star Facebook rating with 1.5-star rating on Yelp.
A review of the restaurant’s inspection reports show no health code violations with the Oklahoma Department of Health.
