Christopher Steven Vetoyanis, age 71, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his home in Yukon, Oklahoma. Steve was born in Oklahoma City to Chris and Helen Vetoyanis on April 20, 1948.
He attended John Carroll elementary school where he was in Boy Scouts and served as an Altar boy. He graduated high school from Putnam City in 1967. While in high school, Steve became involved with Young Life and committed his life to Jesus as Savior.
He later moved to serve on staff with Young Life in Wichita Falls, Texas developing special life-long friendships. He was passionate about his faith, family and friends. Steve returned to Oklahoma City where he came to find his passion in working as a Land Broker in the Oil and Gas business. This profession brought many cherished friendships into his life.
Steve married and had two children, Lara Elyse and Zachary Ryan, one grandchild, Gaige Cadence whom he adored and treasured. He was an involved hands-on Dad, supporting his treasured children in all their sporting events, never missing a game.
He enjoyed Daddy/daughter dates at the Civic Center and ball games and lunch with his son. From cooking out with friends to enjoying a glass of wine around the fireplace, he loved life and lived it to the fullest. He had a curious mind and an adventurous soul eager to explore new horizons.
Honoring his memory and incredible love are his children, Lara and Zac; grandson, Gaige; sister, Patti Gail (Vetoyanis) Roybal and husband John, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Helen, and sisters, Ann and Kathy and their husbands.
Steve will be remembered as a man full of life, love, joy, fun and adventure.
Celebration of Life service was Wednesday, May 29, at 1 p.m. at the Chapel at Crossings Community Church, 14600 N. Portland Ave., Oklahoma City, with interment following at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 NW Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City.
