Obituary – Linda Kay (Morgan) Walker

1019

Linda Kay (Morgan) Walker was born May 1, 1940 on a farm at her parents’ home in Comanche, OK. She graduated from Empire High School in 1958. She lived at home and worked in Duncan at various jobs until meeting her husband Charles “Ted” Walker in Duncan.

They married in April of 1963 and moved to Yukon, OK, where they made their home for 56 years until Linda’s death on May 28, 2019. They had two children, Kristin and Aaron.

Linda grew up singing from a young age. Her father would drive her to her singing “gigs” until she was old enough to drive herself. She was a member of a ladies trio, and they won several awards. She played in various bands. She was a regular solo singer on Channel 6 TV in Wichita Falls, TX. The weekly Saturday night show was hosted by Bill Mack’s “Big 6 Jamboree.”

After moving to Yukon, Linda joined the First Baptist Church and became active in the choir. She was in a ladies trio there also and they sang together for over 30 years.

Linda’s biggest joy in life aside from music was being a mom. She took great pride in their achievements and also often requested prayers during their difficulties.
The Lord called her home after a month-long illness.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Piner Morgan and her mother, Dorotha Pauline Morgan.

She is survived by her husband, Ted Walker along with their children, Kristin and Aaron. She is also survived by her brother, James Wendell Morgan and his wife Kay; their children, Kent Morgan, wife Traci and their kids Jack and Rex, and daughter, Lisa Morgan and her daughter Peyton.

Her Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, Yukon, OK.
