On Sunday, July 7, 2019 Eugene “Gene” Carl Adams, passed away at the age of 82 years old. He was born January 5, 1937 to John C. and Sophie (Skop) Adams.
Gene grew up in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Crane High School in 1956. He served in the United States Army from 1956-58, where he was stationed in Germany. Gene attended DePaul University and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Business. He married Anna Mae Adams on August 8, 1970 in Berwyn, Illinois.
Gene worked in the Firehouse & Security at Western Electric Hawthorne Plant in Cicero, Illinois as a supervisor until he transferred to Oklahoma in July of 1983. He then worked for the AT&T/Lucent Oklahoma City plant where he held various supervisory positions until his retirement. He retired with over 40 years of service in 2000.
Gene was an avid model builder, bowler, and always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon, OK.
Gene is survived by his wife, Ann of the home; son, Edward Adams and wife, Sidney of Yukon, OK; granddaughter, Lauren Adams and grandson, Sean Adams both of Yukon, OK; brother, John Adams of Orland Park, Illinois; sister-in-law, Carole Viktora of Oklahoma City and 4 nieces and 4 nephews of Illinois. Gene was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert Adams.
Viewing will be held 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., on Thursday, July 11 at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, OK, with a Wake and Rosary service to follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 12, at St John Nepomuk Catholic Church, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.
