The audience is sure to enjoy some great original country music next week in one of Yukon’s favorite summer traditions.

The Concerts in the Park series continues with country music from the energetic band, Champ Devere. This band promises to bring an exciting night of entertainment at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 at Chisholm Trail Park, 500 W Vandament.

The public is invited to bring their blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy this free outdoor event.

Champ Devere’s reputation for energetic live performances has landed them numerous television and radio appearances, including the hit reality show “Can You Duet” on CMT.

Their original songs have been popular on multiple radio stations.

With upbeat rockin’ original songs, bluesy, honky-tonk style, and ballads, Champ Devere has created their own form of “country meets rock” that has positioned themselves uniquely in the music scene.

The band has been compared to bands and artists like JT Hodges, Dustin Lynch, Old Dominion, Eric Church, High Valley, Love & Theft, Montgomery Gentry, Big and Rich, Jason Aldean, and Brantley Gilbert, while keeping a rockin’ country style that is all their own.

Along with next Thursday night’s free concert, Yukon Parks & Recreation will offer carnival games just for kids.

Yukon’s Concerts in the Park concludes on Aug. 8 with Motown/soul music from Smilin’ Vic and the Soul Monkeys and “Bark at the Park” night.

The public is invited to bring their dogs at 6:30 p.m. for registration, then the contests start at 7 pm. This special night features $1 hot dogs and a howling good time.
