Carol Jean Houston

Loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend – Carol Jean Houston went to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 8, 2019.

Born in 1946 in Cando, N.D., Carol graduated from HS in Pillager, MN in 1965. She worked in nursing, as a bus driver and in office settings, but spent most of her life as a housewife.

She married James Houston June 17, 1967 in Independence, MO. Carol moved to Yukon, OK in 2014 and loved attending church at Bethany First Assembly of God.

Carol loved to make personalized, handmade cards for her family, friends and anyone she felt could use encouragement.

She is preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, grandparents, one brother and several nieces and nephews. Carol is survived by her two sons, Brian (Bonnie) Houston of Richmond, MO, and Brent Houston, of Yukon, OK; daughter, Brenda (Randy) Stallings of Yukon, OK; two granddaughters, Sarah (Tony) Wilmoth of Arlington, TX, and Morgan Houston of Richmond, MO, as well as several siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Carol’s funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, OK with burial to follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2019, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Immediately following the burial, a memorial service will be held at the First Assembly of God, 1050 W. 19 St., Higginsville, MO 64037.

Should friends desire, memorial gifts may be made to the family to assist with the cost of the burial.
