Alma Jane Brakefield, 76, of Comanche, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by her family.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at West Point Christian Church in Yukon, Oklahoma with Dr. Rev. Debi Powell-Maxwell officiating.
Cremation arrangements were provided by Don Grantham Funeral Home in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Alma Jane Brakefield was born on November 27, 1942 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Oscar and Virginia (Rolston) Duke. Jane worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and as a waitress for The Grill in Duncan from 2005 through 2008.
She married the love of her life Thomas L. Brakefield on October 19, 1957. Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Determined and independent Jane was very particular about everything, she was very close to her Lord and Savor and to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L Brakefield her brothers, David Duke, Kenneth Duke, Danny Duke and her sister Joan Skrogstad.
She is survived by her children; Trenten Lee Brakefield, Anita J. Whelpley, of Yukon, Oklahoma and Steve Brakefield of Comanche, Oklahoma; her brothers Eddie Duke of Broken Arrow, OK; her sister, Jearee Coone of Moresville, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Matthew and Ryan Brakefield, Jared Whelpely, Joy Toppan, Dawn Prebey; and seven great grandchildren and many nieces nephews and friends.
