Yukon Mayor’s Essay Contest winners recognized

The Yukon Parks & Recreation Department has announced winners of the 2019 Mayor’s Essay Contest. Winners were recognized on Saturday, Dec. 7 during the annual Mayor’s Christmas Party at the Dale Robertson Center, 1200 Lakeshore.

The essay contest featured 49 entries with students writing on the topic of “What Christmas Means to Me.”

First place was Carson Bowen, a student in Mrs. Wrather’s class at Lakeview Elementary. Read Carson’s essay by clicking here.

These top three winners will read their essays during the Jan. 21, 2020 Yukon City Council meeting inside the Centennial Building, 12 S 5th.

The Mayor’s Essay Contest included entries from Parkland, Ranchwood and Lakeview schools; For Heaven’s Sake Day Care and homeschoolers.
