Yukon’s Mabel C. Fry Public Library members now have access to more than 1,500 of the best comics and graphic novels from major brands.
This digital collection includes 350 Marvel titles and 170 Disney titles, plus much, much more. New titles will be added each month.
Patrons of all ages will find something to love in this collection—from Disney Comics’ beloved characters and stories such as Frozen, Lion King, Star Wars and Mickey Mouse, to Marvel Comics’ Captain Marvel, Spiderman, and The Avengers, to other publisher brand favorites, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Hellboy, My Little Pony, Peabody and Sherman. Add the best in comic brands, Disney, Marvel, IDW, and DarkHorse
“Having digital graphic novels truly enhances the library collection!” Librarian Sara Schieman said, “They are great for helping struggling readers or children who think they do not have a love for, or enjoy reading.”
The user-friendly content can be searched by title and/or series. The issues will check out for 30 days, and readers can check out a volume instead of a single issue.
“We are really excited to have such a vast range of comic books, manga, and graphic novels for our patrons to check out,” Assistant Library Carla Hickey said. “There is absolutely no way that we could have the physical copies of each title that the digital comics collection has in the library because of space constraints, and the cost associated with 1,500-plus volumes.”
It is easy to check out the digital comics. All that is needed is a valid Mabel C. Fry Public Library card and an internet connected device. To check out the comics, go to the library website at http://www.mabelcfrypubliclibrary.com and click on RBdigital Comics, then set up your account, which is easy and will only take a few minutes.
Anyone who doesn’t have a library card should visit the Mabel C. Fry Public Library at 1200 Lakeshore to get one.
