America has lost another great patriot. Buddy Lee Guth, 59, passed away on January 9, 2020 in Yukon. Buddy was born on December 19, 1960 in El Reno to Leslie and Jimmie Lou. Buddy graduated from El Reno High School in 1979. He began his career in law enforcement at the Sheriff’s office in El Reno serving from 1980 to 1989. During this time, he attended Redlands Community College for Criminal Justice and Police Science. He later became a police officer for the City of Yukon in 1992 where he became a field training officer and achieved the rank of lieutenant prior to his retirement. During this time, he received multiple awards including the Top Gun award for marksmanship. While serving as a Yukon police officer, he became an avid leader in the Yukon Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #173, proudly serving his fellow brothers and sisters. He enjoyed spending time with his children, his energetic grandchildren, and his many cherished family members and dear friends. Buddy L. Guth is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Guth, his mother, Jimmie Lou Guth-King, and his father Leslie Guth. Buddy is survived by his daughter, Summer Dawson and her husband Sam Dawson; son, Austin Guth; grandsons, Eli and Everett Dawson; aunt, Mary Wilcox; aunt, Laverna Herbert, and many beloved cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Officer Down Memorial. Celebration of Life services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 1500 W. Vandament Ave., Yukon, 73099, with interment following at Pleasant View Cemetery in Union City (Intersection of SW 44th St. and Radio St.). Online condolences may be signed at www.yandafuneral.com.
