Yukon’s pom team returned from Orlando, FL. with a pair of top 10 finishes in the National Dance Team Championships.
The competition was held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and featured dance teams from all over the country.
Yukon placed sixth in the Large Varsity Game Day division. There were 21 teams competing in the division.
The team did have a few obstacles to overcome in finishing sixth. Their music stopped twice during the competition, but the team continued their routine without panicking or missing a beat.
Yukon pom coach Rebecca Reape said the team did amazing in overcoming the obstacles.
“They handled the situation like professionals,” Reape said. “The entire venue was cheering for them because they did so well. We were able toperform the routine again because the music did not play.”
The team also placed eighth in the Large Varsity Pom Competition.
