Preparations are underway for possible coronavirus at Yukon’s Nina Willingham Senior Housing, said manager Terry Martin.
While there have been no known cases at the housing center or in the surrounding community, Martin said older people should be prepared since they can be dangerously affected.
“Much about the virus is still unknown, but we do know that the population we serve, older persons with underlying medical conditions, are at greater risk for the most serious forms of infection associated with this new disease,” Martin said. “The health and wellness of our residents/tenants and the care-giving teams who support them is our number one priority.”
She said the staff will take extra precautions and keep updated on health concerns with the virus.
