Eugene “Gene” Seright, 80, was born November 17th, 1939 in Merritt, Oklahoma and passed away Tuesday, April 14th, 2020 in Oklahoma City.

Born and raised on a small family farm in Merritt, Gene continued his education at Southwestern State University, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree (teaching degree) in 1963 and a Master’s Degree in 1966. He then enjoyed a rewarding and fulfilling career teaching in various public school systems in Oklahoma.

He met the love of his life, Sharon, sharing 50 wonderful years of marriage prior to her death August 28, 2016.

Gene was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and took great pleasure in his Sooners trivia knowledge. He shared his passion for the Sooners with his four grandsons. He was a man of great faith and raised his two sons, Kurtis and Randy, to be men of Christ as well. Gene was a faithful member First Baptist of Yukon, where he also served as a Deacon.

Gene will be greatly missed, but there is no greater pleasure than knowing he has been reunited with his family in Heaven.

In addition to his wife Sharon, he is also preceded in death by his son, Kurtis Seright.

Gene is survived by his son, Randy Seright; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Seright, and grandsons: Brayden, Broox, Caleb, and Nathan Seright.

Private Graveside Services were Friday, April 17th at the Welch Cemetery, Welch, Oklahoma.
