Stella Madge (Spencer) Greear was born in Eddy, OK on April 25, 1922, a daughter of the late Fred and Ruth Spencer. On Friday, May 15, 2020, she passed away at the age of 98 at Spanish Cove Retirement Village where she had been a resident for 13 years. She lived her entire life in Oklahoma and was the oldest of her surviving siblings: Gloria Kubik, Betty Hicks, Nancy Spencer, and Lillie Newkirk. Her brother, Fred Eldon Spencer preceded her in death on May 19, 2017. Madge also had nieces and nephews who she shared a great deal of time with, since most of them live in Oklahoma, or nearby. She also saw the addition of many other nieces and nephews to the family. Madge had great memories of helping with chores on the farm, located in Jefferson, OK, and she especially enjoyed cooking. She loved sharing stories of her elementary and high school events before graduating from Jefferson High School in 1940. She had plans to go to college, so she attended NW State College in Alva, OK. Later she completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree and ultimately earned her Master’s Degree. During WWII, she and her sister, Gloria worked in Washington, DC for the FBI. Upon her return from Washington she worked as a secretary. She finally decided to become a teacher and taught 1st grade for many years, which she dearly loved. She married Kermit Greear, sharing 25 years of marriage before his death in 1985. A very talented lady, she loved music, and arts and crafts. Madge was a lifelong United Methodist and faithfully attended her church in Midwest City. Private services will be held. Online condolences may be signed at http://www.yandafuneral.com.
