The Yukon Concert in the Park series returns Thursday, June 18.

The series begins at Kathryn Wright Chisholm Trail Park with traditional country music.

Core Country performs at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 18.

The concerts are at the Chisholm Trail Park gazebo, 500 W Vandament Avenue.
In July, all concerts will begin at 7 p.m.

People are welcome to bring lawn chairs. Food truck concessions, which help keep the concerts free, are available for purchase, according to a news release from the City of Yukon.

There will be “tasty treats” along with the music.

Core Country, was founded by Ken Collins, pedal steel guitarist, in the late 1990s.

Collins acted in and directed most Jude & Jody TV shows and all Bob Mills TV shows of the past.

Core Country features local singer Wilton O’Neal, accompanied by Gary Weathers on drums, Larry Kent on fiddle/vocals, Lorrie Kent on bass guitar/ vocals, Randy Sanders on fiddle/vocals and Collins on pedal steel guitar.

The Thursday, June 25 concert features Irv Wagner’s Jazz Combo. Former Mayor of Yukon, Earline Smiastrala, joins them for a featured song.
