Leah Ann Holmes-Blackard died peacefully at her home in Shawnee, OK on
June 20, 2020. She was born in Yukon, OK on September 24, 1973 to Archie
and Betty Holmes.
She graduated from Yukon High School in 1991 and attended the University of
Central Oklahoma.
With her dad as the coach, Leah Ann enjoyed playing softball from 4 th through 8 th
Grade and was a Millerette basketball player for Yukon High School.
She was blessed after 16 years to have been reunited with the man who became
her husband when she and David Blackard were married on May 1, 2019.
Leah Ann not only cared for and loved her family, but many special “Furry
Friends”.
She is survived by her husband David Blackard of Shawnee; mother, Betty
Holmes and special friend Bernard Blake of Yukon; aunt and uncle, Annie and
Ron Ruffier of Clarksville, TN; cousins: Cassie Stewart of Clarksville, TN,
Bethany Kuban and husband Chris of St. Louis, MO, Donald and Andra Ruffier of
Clarksville, TN and the newest “Furry Friend”, Buster, as well as numerous other
cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Archie Lee; maternal grandparents,
Katie Elizabeth Davis and Billie Hartwell Rogers; paternal grandparents, Archie
Lee Holmes, Sr. and Ida Katherine Holmes, and her “Furry Friends” Waddles and
Teddy Bear.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at
the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon.
