Yukon city employee positive for COVID-19

Community center worker will be off for two weeks

People are urged to practice social distancing when City Hall reopens in Yukon.

The City of Yukon received test results Friday that confirm a Yukon Community Center employee tested positive for COVID-19, according to a news release.

The employee reported to work on July 8 and 9, and worked in a parks and recreation department mini camp. The employee did not become symptomatic
until the following weekend. The employee is currently recovering at home.

Parents and others who were in contact with the employee were notified. The employee cannot return to work for at least 14 days, the news release states.
“The city is closely monitoring the situation and will take necessary actions to protect its residents and employees,” the release states.
City of Yukon officials have required mandatory masks for employees who engage with the public, as well as all
employees of the Yukon Community Center, Dale Robertson Center, Jackie Cooper Gym and Mabel C. Fry Public Library.
