Charles L. Baker of Yukon passed away Friday, July 24th, 2020. Charles was born to Elmo and Florence Baker in Tryon, OK on August 17, 1941. He attended Tryon Public Schools and graduated high school in a class of 12 in 1959. Charles attended several junior colleges in the Oklahoma City area throughout his life. He worked many years at Boardman Steel Company, and then at Finger Furniture. He ended his working career building and remodeling small churches around the metro. He loved his tools and could fix anything anyone brought him. Charles had a very deep affection for motorcycles all his life and rode them as long as he possibly could. He also enjoyed spending summers with his wife in Cuchara, CO, where he was admired by many.
He is survived by his wife, Chris Welborn Baker; his two sons, Tony Baker and Chris Baker; the mother of his boys, LaNell Dulworth; his grandchildren, Austin Baker, Rachel Baker and Dustin Phillips; and one great-granddaughter, Leilani Baker. He is also survived by his step-children, Shelley Welborn Lanquist and Ryan Welborn; and step-grandchildren, McKenna, Parker and Chelsea Lanquist, and Hayden and Benjamin Welborn. He is also survived by his very special niece, Pam Windiate.
Charles was generous and caring and enjoyed making others smile. He was just a really nice man who will be deeply missed.
