YPS resumes student food program

Meals may be picked up Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at nine school sites


Yukon Public Schools next Monday, Aug. 24 will resume its child nutrition program for students enrolled in the YPS continuous learning plan and Yukon Virtual School.

During the school closure, child nutrition programs operated under a waiver that allowed all children under the age of 18 to receive free meals. Those waivers have now expired.

Effective Aug. 24, YPS is required to return to its regular meal prices:

  • Elementary/Intermediate: Breakfast $1.30, Lunch $2.70
  • Yukon Middle School: Breakfast $1.40, Lunch $2.95
  • Yukon High School: Breakfast $1.70, Lunch $2.95
  • Parent/Visitor: Breakfast $1.95, Lunch $3.75
  • Reduced Price: Breakfast $.30, Lunch $.40
  • Free Price: Breakfast $0, Lunch $0

Meals may be picked up at these YPS sites from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays: Central Elementary, Myers Elementary, Parkland Elementary, Ranchwood Elementary, Shedeck Elementary, Surrey Hills Elementary, Lakeview Intermediate, Yukon Middle School, and Yukon High School.

Monday meal pick-ups will include two breakfasts and two lunches. The charge will be for a total of four meals per student based on the prices listed above.

Wednesday meal pick-ups will include three breakfasts and three lunches. The charge will be for a total of six meals per student based on the prices listed above.

Meals also may be picked up from 5-6 p.m. Tuesdays at YHS. Tuesday pickups will include five breakfasts and five lunches. The charge will be for 10 meals per student based on the prices listed above.

Student ID numbers and student names are required for meal pick-up. Only students enrolled in YPS are eligible for the breakfast and lunch program.

Starting Aug. 27, a tentative menu will be posted each week. Parents are encouraged to pre-order meals each week by noon Friday using this link:

Meal payments may be made via MySchoolBucks.com or by cash or check sealed in an envelope or plastic bag.
