Law officers investigate reported kidnapping

Man says he was tied to tree in Canadian County

Yukon Public Schools will be closed Wednesday.

A man claimed he was kidnapped, robbed and tied to a tree near NW 10 and Cimarron Road early Friday, according to police reports.

About 12:30 a.m Friday, police reportedly were called to the 700 block of Dusty Trail, in an addition north of Interstate 40 and east of Mustang Road. The victim told law officers a man with a shotgun had demanded $30,000 from him and pushed him in the chest with the shotgun, according to reports.

Canadian County Sheriff’s deputies were the first to the scene and they found the man who had been tied to the tree, but no arrests were reported.

The victim told police that the man with the shotgun and a second man put a pillowcase over his head and locked him in a bathroom for three hours while looting his house.

An on-call Oklahoma City spokesman Friday evening did not have information available about the investigation.

The victim reportedly told police two men demanded his keys and wallet and forced him into the back seat of his car. They drove him to NW 10 and Cimarron Road where they tied him to a dead tree and drove away in his car.

The man was able to get loose and ran to a house to call police.

Anyone with information should call 911.
