Flood warning, advisory issued overnight in Yukon

Flooding is possible Tuesday near Banner Road and east to Lake Overholser.

Heavy rain caused high water across Canadian County roads and low-lying areas overnight in Yukon and El Reno.

A flood advisory is in effect Tuesday for areas along the North Canadian River in Yukon, the National Weather Service reports.

The advisory will continue until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

High water stranded vehicles in El Reno overnight, according to TV reports.

The North Canadian River is expected to crest to 12.5 feet Tuesday morning from near Banner Road west of Yukon to the headwaters of Lake Overholser to the east, the weather service reported.

Areas most affected will be low-lying croplands and pastures, oilfield sites and along local roads.

Yukon has had 1.35 inches of rain reported overnight.

More showers and thunderstorms are expected after 4 p.m. Tuesday. The high temperature will be 83 degrees.
