Johnnie Savill

Johnnie Savill, 74, of Warr Acres, went home to Jesus on Sunday, August 30, 2020. The son of Willie Samuel Savill and Lurline (Hicks) Savill, he was born November 9, 1945 in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

Johnnie proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War alongside his twin brother Ronnie. He worked as a Supervisor for the City of Oklahoma City Water Department, Reservoirs and Canals for 38 years.

His God given talent was art and his tool, love. He created a masterpiece of his life; he could paint a picture that made you feel warmth from within, whether it be by brush, stories or actions.

Johnnie was a man of faith, resilience, dedication, simplicity, strength, kindness, stubbornness, happiness, and determination but most of all love. His love was felt in his smile, supportive touch, laughter, steadfast encouragement and belief in life eternal through Jesus Christ our Savior.

He enjoyed the outdoors, adventures of his youth, years in the river noodling catfish, tinkering on anything he could get his hands on as he fixed it with “Cajun ingenuity” or hunting and camping in the woods. He did what he enjoyed and what he enjoyed was being a good man to a family that loved him deeply. He was sent as a messenger pure and simple with a message unique for all who were able to receive.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and five brothers.

He is survived by his treasured wife, Kathie Savill, whom God sent directly to him for 38 beautiful years; his daughters, Katrina and husband Daniel ValBracht and his cherished granddaughters, Emilie and Aubrie ValBracht; Gina and husband Ed Boerner and grandsons, Troy and wife Laura Boerner and birthday buddy great granddaughters, Presley and Scarlett, Tyler and wife Jona Boerner and great granddaughter, Layla and a baby on the way, and Trevor and wife Quynh Boerner; son, Kirk Carnahan. Also surviving are his twin son and daughter, Paul Savill and Paula Phipps, and sister, Margie Rankin.
