Heavy rain caused high water across Canadian County roads and low-lying areas overnight in Yukon and El Reno.

A flood advisory was issued Tuesday for areas along the North Canadian River in Yukon, the National Weather Service reports.

The advisory continued through Tuesday evening.

High water stranded vehicles in El Reno early Tuesday, according to reports.

The North Canadian River was expected to crest to 12.5 feet Tuesday morning.

Flooding was possible from near Banner Road west of Yukon to the headwaters of Lake Overholser in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Mesonet website showed Yukon had 5.17 inches of rain and El Reno had 2.20 inches.
