A store clerk was shot and killed early Thursday in southwest Oklahoma City, the second convenience store clerk gunned down since November in the area.
Laura Taylor, 30, of Yukon, was shot after she followed a robber out of the store.
A 7-Eleven spokesperson released the following statement Thursday.
“Our hearts are with the victim’s family. We are gathering information and working with local law enforcement. The store is currently closed while police complete their investigation,” according to the statement.
About 2:30 a.m. police were called to 1601 S Mustang Road where a man had reportedly walked up to the clerk at a 7-Eleven store and had a confrontation with her, then he fired several shots at her and fled on foot.
No one has been arrested. Police Capt. Jeff Spruill said the woman was lying in the parking lot dead when officers arrived.
The shooter was described as black who was wearing a white face mask and a black hoodie, Spruill said.
“Investigators believe Ms. Taylor was killed during a robbery of the store,” according to an Oklahoma City police news release.


On Nov. 12, a store clerk was killed at a 7-Eleven at W Reno and Czech Hall Road. The gunman was later killed by police.
