From Staff Reports

The Yukon High School Millers opened their 2020 football season Saturday night with plenty of pep and energy.

The team fought hard against their Canadian County rivals, the Mustang High School Broncos, but came up short in a 35-21 defeat.

COVID-19 concerns have limited capacity at Miller Stadium, but the cheerleaders, pom squad and pep band kept the energy up as the team tied the game in the second half.
The game had been scheduled originally for Friday, Sept. 4, but players from Mustang had to be quarantined and the game was delayed until Saturday.

The Millers travel this week to play Deer Creek 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11. A full report on the game Saturday and upcoming game from Sports Editor Chuck Reherman can be found in The Yukon Progress Sports section. And follow The Yukon Progress and yukonprogress.com for local news and sports.
