A 21-year-old man was charged Friday with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Yukon store clerk Laura Taylor.
The charge against George Lorenz Way was filed in Canadian County District Court. Way also faces a robbery with a firearm felony charge. Way lived just outside of Yukon city limits in southwest Oklahoma City near the store where Taylor died.

Taylor, 30, was working at 7-Eleven, 1601 S. Mustang Road in Oklahoma City about 2 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3 when she was shot and killed in the parking lot of the store.
The charge against Way states that Way used a 9 mm Taurus handgun to shoot Taylor multiple times, causing Taylor to suffer “certain mortal wounds from which mortal wounds Laura Taylor did languish and die.”

The charge states that Way had used the gun to rob money from the store where Taylor was working.
Police said Taylor followed Way outside as Way fled on foot.
Way remains jailed without bond in the Canadian County jail.
