Police are looking for three women who tried to rob another woman of her purse on Tuesday, Sept. 15, officers reported Thursday.

About 7:35 Tuesday, officers were called to an attempted robbery at a grocery store at 2400 S Cornwell Drive.

A woman told officers she was pushing her grocery cart from the store to her vehicle in the parking lot when three unknown female suspects attacked her, attempting to steal her purse. One female suspect grabbed the victim’s purse while the victim was being pushed to the ground. While on the ground the victim was kicked in the ribs several times by the suspects as they attempted to pull the purse away. Bystanders who witnessed the incident approached the victim and the suspects ran toward their staged vehicle.

The suspects’ vehicle was identified as a white, four door Kia Forte and the driver left the scene before officers arrived.

The incident was believed to be a planned event since witnesses observed the vehicle circling the grocery store parking lot before this incident occurred. The Yukon Police Department would like to remind shoppers to be vigilant of their surroundings and if you see anything suspicious, please call 911.
