The pandemic has resulted in layoffs, furloughs and many people deciding to make a career change, a real estate broker said.

One new career could be in real estate, said Janet Story, managing broker at McGraw Realtors in Yukon.

Story said the McGraw Real Estate Academy has recently opened and can help people become fully-licensed as a realtor in about 60 days,

Houses have been selling on a fast pace in the Yukon area, so fast that the inventory has lagged behind with such demand, she said.

The need for realtors has increased, she said.

The cost for the real estate academy is $449. The cost covers access to the materials, supplemental textbooks, practice exams, online assistance and in-person or Zoom study groups.

Anyone interested in the academy can call Story in the Yukon office at (405) 354-5243 or Bob Haywood at (918) 272-7272.
