El Reno man struck and killed while mowing, driver charged

Negligent homicide case filed in June fatality

An Oklahoma City man has been charged with negligent homicide in the death of a man struck and killed while mowing in El Reno.

Travis Lee Osborn, 41, was driving a pickup on June 18 on S. Shepard Avenue when the pickup he drove went off the roadway and onto a lawn being mowed by Howard Noland. Noland was struck and died of injuries.

“The defendant’s driving did then and there inflict certain mortal wounds in and upon the body of Howard Noland of which mortal wounds he did languish and die,” the misdemeanor charge against Osborn reads.

The charge states that Osborn was driving a Dodge Ram “with reckless disregard of others,”  when Noland was killed.
