COVID-19 case closes Yukon City Hall

A COVID-19 case has resulted in the City Hall in Yukon being closed.

City of Yukon officials received test results on Friday, Oct. 16 that confirm an employee of City Hall is positive for COVID-19. The employee was last at work on October 9 is currently recovering at home.

Yukon City Hall, 500 W. Main, will be closed to the public until further notice for sanitization, according to a news release from the city. The utility billing drive-thru, located on the north end of the building, will still remain open for payments. The city is requiring that the infected employee refrain from coming to work for at least 14 days.

The City of Yukon has taken steps to protect clients and staff, according to a news release.

Masks are mandatory for employees who engage with the public, as well as all employees of the Yukon Community Center, Dale Robertson Center, Jackie Cooper Gym and Mabel C. Fry Public Library. There are touchless, hand-sanitizing stations at every city building. Staff who have symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to stay home.
