Samuel Houston Dillon, Jr., known as Sonny, was born January 28, 1940 in Oklahoma City and passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 in Oklahoma City.
He and his wife, Virginia were married September 12, 1959, and resided in Yukon, OK.
Sonny attended Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore, OK, graduating in 1958 with the rank of Master Sergeant.
Upon graduating he became involved in the family home building business as a laborer. He learned the building trade from his father. Later, he left Oklahoma City to become a commercial building superintendent, traveling throughout the country. He and his son operated Dillon Trucking and Backhoe Service in Alabama, Ohio, and Mississippi.
He retired from construction and returned to Oklahoma City. He bought a truck and traveled once again as an owner-operator, retiring in 2002.
Sonny was a talented and skilled craftsman. He enjoyed camping in his RV and spending time with family, friends and his cat, Buddy.
He loved having company that came to eat, visit and share stories. He will be remembered for his laugh and wonderful smile.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Yukon.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Virginia; son, Richard Dillon and wife Michelle; brother, Terry Dillon and wife Jeri; brother-in-law, Robert Orcutt and wife Alice, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister.

Viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, OK. There will be no services at this time due to COVID.
