Don Wallace, legendary TV outdoorsman, disc jockey dies

Don Wallace, an Oklahoma outdoorsman, TV personality and pioneer radio disc jockey who lived in Yukon, died Wednesday, Nov. 18 at the age of 90.

Services for Wallace will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25 at New Hope Methodist Church, 11600 N. Council Road.

Wallace hosted an outdoor television show in Oklahoma from the mid-1960s through the 1980s, the “Wallace Wildlife Show,” Wallace began his career at WKY in Oklahoma City in 1958. He began hosting the “Wallace Wildlife Show” in 1965.

Wallace was a disc jockey who worked at radio stations in Bartlesville and Tulsa, and was one of the first disc jockeys to play rock ‘n’ roll on Tulsa stations.
