Bryan Parks, owner of Grass Monkeys Landscaping LLC, is serious about what he does. And he loves his work.
Parks offers routine lawn service, fencing, tree and shrub trimming, flower bed installation and maintenance, and installation of Christmas lights.
Grass Monkeys is primarily his baby, but Parks said, “I have guys I call if I need extra help.”
With customers in Yukon and Mustang, Parks said, “I’ve been doing this the better part of eight years. There are great people in this area. I have 50 routine mowing clients, who have me mow every week to two weeks. I’ve had some of my clients for six years. And as far as fencing, I repair fencing or install new fences. I mainly do residential wooden fences. But I do wood or metal.”
Planning to expand in 2021, Parks wants to add pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control, as well as concrete work. On top of that, Parks said, “I do some hardscape already, like stone work, pavers, walkways, and things like that. But I want to do more. I want to add all these things and be more of a complete landscape service. And I want to tap more fully into the neighborhoods I’m already in.”
Parks graduated from Mustang High School in 2015.
“My dad had an acreage and all the lawn equipment,” said Parks. “He kind of got me started in the industry, and he gave me the startup equipment. That was a blessing. In 2013, I started doing things for neighbors and friends. But Grass Monkeys really took off in 2015. I wanted a name that sounded jazzy. And now I have people who contact me, and say they called just because they like the name Grass Monkeys.”
Parks learned the fencing industry, and more about equipment, by building barns and working construction jobs.
“I love doing lawns and using all of the equipment from start to finish for that property,” said Parks.
“And I like setting my own schedule. I get to be creative. I’m the type of person who likes to always be doing something, and with this, I can stay busy doing something I actually enjoy.”
“I get a lot of new clients who say their lawn crew isn’t reliable, or maybe the crew over promises and under delivers, and they want better service,” said Parks. “I pride myself on being reliable. And I don’t say I can do something I can’t do. I always show up, and I let people know if I’m going to be late. As a result, I get a lot of compliments. I want to provide a great service, and separate myself from others in the industry who don’t.”
